    ABOUT THE EVENT

The South China Morning Post was born at the dawn of the 20th century. A bold new publication which launched in 1903, it promised its readers “something better and more interesting” than all that had gone before. For 120 years, we have witnessed, recorded and explained the dramatic developments that have shaped Hong Kong, China and the world, from typhoons to taipans, the plague to the pandemic, and the motorcar to the metaverse.

As the SCMP looks to our past heritage and forward to Hong Kong’s future horizons, we want to capture these stories in a special event series - SCMP120 Conversations. Consisting of close gatherings between our readers, journalists, and Hong Kong trendsetters, these conversations will cover past and future subjects that matter to our city.
